Gearing up for the Mountain Bike & Cycling season in Morzine
We have had such a fantastic amount of snow in Morzine and the Portes du Soleil this Winter that the mountain bike season which normally begins around the end of May has been put back a couple of weeks so that the snow can melt!

The first major Mountain Bike event takes place from 27th – 29th June - The Passports du Soleil MTB. For 3 days, mountain bikers (in waves of 1500 per day) can discover the entire MTB area. An 80 km circuit will take you on this wonderful tour of our area and will include unbeatable check-points providing snacks, offering mainly local products including Abondance cheese, local ham, Swiss chocolate, wine… (but don't forget you have to ride back afterwards!). If you are interested in taking part, please book your place now as entries are limited and going fast! Call us on 0033450790826 and we will book your place for you if you wish.

If an organised event like this is not for you, why not visit us for a long weekend - or longer - to sample some of the fantastic trails around Morzine and the Portes du Soleil. Morzine is well known as one of the best mountain bike resorts in the Alps and we are happy to cater for groups of bikers. We have secure storage facilities with a small workshop area where you can work on your own bike, experienced guides to show you around if you require and excellent contacts with reputable hire shops if you would prefer to hire bikes or equipment for any time during your stay.

If roaring downhill on a mountain bike is not quite your thing, have you considered using Morzine as a base for road cycling trips? We have a fantastic array of quality rides available to all levels of rider from right outside the Farmhouse door. Whether you want a relaxing ride around to the lake at Montrionde or a full day tackling some of the most famous cols used in “Le Tour” including the steep Col de Joux Plane which is right behind The Farmhouse, then this is the place for you. We are able to give you advice on the best routes and if given notice can organise an experienced guide who will take you on the best routes for your particular fitness level and ambitions.

If competition is your thing then why not try the timed ascent from Morzine to Avoriaz? The route is 13km long and the course record was set 30 years ago by Bernard Hinault after a day in the saddle on le Tour de France! See if you can come close to 33 minutes!

Get your walking boots on!
Love mountain biking though I do, walking is my big Summer passion. This area abounds with walks that would take your breath away (sometimes literally, after some of the steeper sections). When time allows, I am happy to take my guests on some of the very best walks in the area to parts of the mountains that for most, remain completely undiscovered. When I am unable to walk though, there are a number of highly experienced guides available in the village should you need one, but sometimes, there is nothing to beat the discovery of new places on your own without someone showing you. As long as you have a map, some good shoes and a sense of adventure, a whole wilderness awaits you!

The list of things to do here during the warm Summer months is extensive to say the least. Take your choice of:

Canyoning - Canyoning is a water sport unlike any other. You will discover streams hidden at the bottom of the sheerest gorges, carved and sculpted out of rock over the millennia by the torrents racing down from the mountains. All with an experienced guide of course!

Paragliding - Enjoy the peace and tranquillity as you soar above the Alps with Morzine far below. Take offs and landings are easy, just a few running steps and the pilot does the rest. Suitable for all.

White water rafting – Enjoy the thrill of white water rafting in the river near lake Geneva.

Horse riding – a fast gallop or a walk in amongst the trees! There are several stables in the area from which you can hire horses and ponies to suit all abilities.

Fantasticable – For serious thrill seekers only! Suspended from a cable more than 200m above the valley floor, you will travel across the valley at 100kmh. This needs to be experienced to be believed!

Road cycling – The cols, the descents, the pain...!

Trail running.

Swimming – We are spoilt for choice for swimming in Morzine. We have a 50m Olympic sized pool in the village that has ample decking around for those who wish to sit around the pool, or if you fancy a swim “au naturel”, you can try either the small lake at Les Gets, the larger lake at Montriond or take a trip down the valley and swim in Lake Geneva.

Sunbathing – just relax in the warm summer sun. We don’t need to show you a photo!

Relaxing – A relaxing drink in our beautiful garden in the warm afternoon sunshine is a treasured memory for many.

Wine and food tasting – This region is famous for local specialities and we can arrange for tasting sessions for individuals or groups.
